The National Institute of Design (NID) has three active campuses, Main Campus-Ahmedabad, Post Graduate Campus – Gandhinagar and the third one is R&D Campus – Bengaluru. Other three new NIDs were established by Government of India in 2015 and later.It work as an autonomous body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, government of India.

.NID offers professional education programmes at Bachelors and Masters level with five faculty streams and 20 diverse design domains.NID has established exchange programmes with more than 55 overseas institute.

In 2010 according to Business Week NID in its list of top design schools in the world.

Bachelor of Design(B. Des) 4 year program is offered in 8 disciplines at the Ahmadabad campus.

Master of Design (M. Des) 2.5 year program is offered in 19 disciplines across 3 campus.
